Do you wonder how SVdP here at St. Clare spends the money that you donate to us throughout the year? There are many uses of course, but we often find ourselves helping neighbors purchase appliances--particularly refrigerators and stoves, and sometimes washers and dryers. Not all landlords provide appliances these days, and the cost of moving them from one residence to the next is prohibitive for some families, so we assist with appliances more often than you might think...

High energy bills can be a “budget buster” for individuals and families living on a limited income. St. Vincent de Paul has been providing funds via the Michigan Energy Assistance Program (MEAP) to help people out of shut-off. Here at St. Clare, volunteers have been writing grant applications since October and having access to funds that keep their utilities on has been quite a blessing to the eligible applicants.

St. Clare of Montefalco Knights of Columbus Council 12479 will be hosting a Major Degree on February 18 2017. The Major Degree is opportunity for 1st Degree members to do their 2nd and 3rd Degree's on their completion to Knighthood. All new candidates can take their 1st, 2nd and 3rd Degrees all in one day.

Please support St. Clare School by ordering a carry out from Hungry Howies located on Jefferson in Grosse Pointe Park, on Tuesday February 7th. When picking up your food or having it delivered, let them know that you are supporting "St. Clare" and they will donate a portion of the proceeds back to our school. Did you know that there is place in our church where books on a variety of topics such as prayer, spirituality, the saints and faith formation, to name but a few, are located? It is located in the Mack Avenue vestibule and can be used at any time the church is open. Winter can be an inviting time to be quiet, read and reflect upon our lives as Christians in this New Year. Take a look and perhaps you will be able to find something for yourself. Also remember there is a lot more on the Formed platform.
