After prayerful consideration we have decided to make a few changes in the staffing of our community. Sr. Kathy Avery, OSM has agreed to take over religious education responsibilities. Mr. Geoff Fisher has agreed to take over as principal of our school. Sr. Kathy will remain as assistant principal.

This week is the last of the month of April during which we celebrated the Holy Triduum and Easter. This Friday we will enter into the month of May which is traditionally Mary’s month, and that brings devotion to Mary. May brings First Communions, Confirmations, weddings, ordinations, and anniversaries to our families, parishes, and our Archdiocese. Special celebrations honoring Mary will be held in our parish on May 10, Mother’s Day, at 9:00 a.m. Mass with a special celebration of the Crowning of Mary, as well as on May 7 and 14 during Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. We will continue with our tradition and celebrate our weekday Masses with the Rosary following the Mass. Every Monday after the morning Mass, there is a special devotion to Mary, Our Lady of Perpetual Help. May all of our celebrations keep the Easter spirit alive.

Please join your fellow parishioners on Thursday, April 30 at Our Lady Star of the Sea for the 8 pm performance of “The Cross and the Light.” Father Andrew has asked that St. Clare parishioners attend the April 30 production of The Cross and the Light at Our Lady Star of the Sea. Invite friends and relatives to experience this special evening with you as well.

Join the St. Clare Garden Club Spring Cleanup on Saturday, May 2 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. This year the Garden Club will focus on improving the appearance of the Church entrances. Bring your favorite garden tools, including rakes, shovels, trimming tools, gloves, and any other tools that are suited to your gardening skills. Meet at the Gazebo at 9:00 a.m. to get your assignment. If there is a special garden or flower bed that you would like to “adopt” for the year, please contact Dave Bodien at [email protected].

As we celebrate the Risen Christ today, we are in awe of how richly each of us is blessed. The Paschal candle towers over the sanctuary. It will lead us to light and new life as we renew our baptismal vows.
