The Christian Service Commission is excited to announce a fundraiser to support the reconstruction of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Haiti. The project is being sponsored by HART (Haiti Africa Relief Team). HART is a group of Catholic parishioners from Southeast Michigan and many friends who seek to serve Jesus by serving others - specifically in Haiti and Africa. The project is being done in multiple phases. Phase 1 and phase 2 are complete. The foundation was phase 2. They are now raising funds for the bricks to erect the walls of the church (phase 3). Next weekend we plan to pass out "brick" packets to allow St. Clare parishioners to support this endeavor. Please join us during the month of May in supporting this project in Haiti.

We have offers of a refrigerator, stove and a washing machine. Others have donated cash and gift cards. We would still like to find or purchase a clothes dryer for them.

Many thanks to the forty plus volunteers who participated in Field Day at Joseph Simoncini Field last Sunday. After a very long winter it was nice to see signs of spring. The most noticeable sign of spring for me is seeing baseball diamonds in use. The group picked up debris, groomed what we could on the field, located the pegs for the various bases, and spruced up the entire area.
