Thank you to everyone who participated in our Annual Thanksgiving Basket Project. What a delight it was to deliver holiday food to our neighbors. The Kroger gift cards donated by some of you were also much appreciated because it is not possible for us to easily provide fresh dairy or bakery products to supplement a special dinner. Thank You for your generosity!
Our SVdP conference does not have an official Christmas assistance or Adopt-a-Family program, however we regularly get requests from people who would like additional holiday help.
This week we were contacted about a family of 8 living within the boundaries of St. Jude--which does not have an active SVdP conference. The mom is just 40 years old and has
terminal brain cancer. She was recently released from St. John Hospital and is at home with her husband, disabled 20 year old son and daughters ages 6, 11, 15 and 16.
We are collaborating with other SVdP Conferences to help provide a special holiday for their family and we invite you to join us. Target or Meijer gift cards will help purchase items they need as well as gifts for the children.
If you can assist, please bring gift cards to the parish office or drop in the collection basket. If you are interested in helping with shopping and/or delivering, please leave a message for Barb on our assistance line at 313-647-5062 or email to
[email protected].
Thank You for Helping Us Help Others,
