It is a busy weekend of community service in our parish. By the time you read this, you'll have had an opportunity to donate to the Warm Hands, Warm Hearts program through Christian Service and our SVdP Conference will be in the midst of our Kroger/Gleaners Food pantry drive. We have some volunteers out at our Kroger location on Crocker Road near Metro Parkway, and other volunteers working here at St. Clare organizing the donations of food and personal items and stocking our pantry. You can still participate--without driving out to "our" Kroger in Harrison Township--by bringing non-perishable, unexpired food items and leaving them in our baskets by the church doors anytime you come to Mass. While this current drive is a huge effort coordinated by Gleaners, our need for groceries is on-going, and we appreciate every donation.

And all the donations are requiring us to be creative with our pantry space, so if anyone has a spare shelving unit they'd like put to good use, please contact Diane at [email protected] or leave a message on our St. Clare SVdP assistance line at 313-647-5062. It should be sturdy enough to hold lots of canned goods!
