The SVdP East District Energy Assistance (EAP) Office opened last weekend in the lower level of the St. Clare Parish Office and we were able to write 7 grants for people needing help with their gas and electric bills, representing over $10,000 in aid! This office will continue to be staffed on Saturdays at least through the end of March by Vincentians from St. Clare and our neighboring parishes. Applications will be taken from 10 am till 1 pm, and volunteers will stay until the last person is taken care of. We can pre-screen applicants on the phone to determine if it is worth your while to apply for assistance.
If your household income meets the following guidelines, and you are behind on your energy bills, please leave a confidential message on our SVDP Assistance line at 313-647-5062 and one of the EAP volunteers will call you back to discuss. Access to the EAP Office on Saturdays from 10 am till 1 pm is through the entrance to the parish office at 1401 Whittier.
