The Parking lot paving replacement and water detention project is officially underway. Final details are being worked out between designers and contractors. Update: we expect major activity this week, so the entire Parish lot is closed to parking. We still expect to allow drop-off under the Carport for handicap entry. Please use Whittier Road, Verheyden’s Parking Lot, and area side streets for all parking needs. Daily Mass goers should continue to park on the Whittier side. Please check the stclarem.org website under Stewardship, Building and Maintenance for the latest updates. I will try to post the latest information by noon on Friday for the weekends. Thank you for your patience.
Walk - Bike - Park and Walk - Enjoy the Neighborhood
If you can walk or bike, then we encourage you to do so. A bike rack is on the Whittier side for your use. Thank you for your patience! Thank you to Margaret Roach for leading by example and riding her bike last week. The project involves significant stormwater management infrastructure improvements in addition to paving the surface. In addition, there will be new landscape planters. The city of Grosse Pointe Park is working collaboratively with St. Clare to replace the original water main that runs from Charlevoix to Mack. Construction is expected to be complete by early September.
