Thank you for your patience and generosity through these unusual times. The fiscal year budget for 2020/2021 reflects St. Clare’s uncertainty of our Community’s future in relation to government regulation and St. Clare’s best efforts to keep our parishioners and employees safe. The budget is driven by guidance from the Archdiocese of Detroit and estimates based on the second quarter of 2020.
Unlike the past, St. Clare can’t assume the previous year’s donations are a reasonable representation of the next year. We understand that 2020 may have had a negative impact on your health and financial situation. It is my hope that I was overly conservative in computing St. Clare’s upcoming revenues. By only meeting this figure, St Clare’s expenses will have to remain at the bare minimum to operate within its means. If revenues increase greater than what is budgeted, St. Clare can begin to bring employees back to pre-pandemic staffing levels and office hours. For this reason, I have proposed using the term “Goal” in place of the budget line in the Weekly Collection report. Again, this goal would reflect the amount required for the Parish to return to pre-pandemic services.
For those of you who feel safer watching Mass from home but would still like to regularly give to the Sunday collection there is an online option. It can be accessed through the
stclarem.org website. Click the “donate” button to proceed. One can choose a recurring option at any of several intervals to give. You can add secondary collections too. Of course, we are always grateful for donations through the US mail. Please note the mail is sometimes several weeks behind.
