Helpers of God’s Precious Infants Prayer Vigil Saturday, October 19, 2019: St. Basil (22860 Schroeder, Eastpointe – Behind McDonalds north of 9 Mile) will host Mass at 7:30 AM. At 8:30 AM we will meet at St. Veronica (21440 Universal, Eastpointe) to begin a Rosary procession, on foot, to 2 abortion mills. The total walking distance is about 6 blocks. If you have never participated in one of these vigils I encourage you to attend. Witness the power of prayer and the affect it has on changing the hearts of women considering abortion. A few years ago Archbishop Vigneron was in attendance demonstrating what an important event this is.
Right to Life Educational Fund Charity Reception: Wednesday, October 23, 2019: Grosse Pointe Yacht Club. This year’s speaker is Gianna Jessen, a dynamic speaker and anti-abortion activist. Gianna survived an abortion and despite weighing only 2.5 pounds when she entered the world she has grown into a faith filled woman who believes nothing is impossible for God. Craig and I will be attending and if you are interested in attending let me know. It would be nice to have a St. Clare table. The link to register to attend is below:

Childcare Needed: Gianna House in Eastpointe (located at St. Veronica) has tremendous need for women who can come one morning a week (or every other week) to help with childcare for infants and toddlers of mothers who come to attend classes. If you are interested in helping please contact Sister Theresa Maynard. (586-445-0440
[email protected]) We will also host a diaper drive in November for Gianna House. Details to follow.
End dismemberment abortion petition drive: We will host one more petition drive the weekend of October 19/20. Michigan’s Constitution allows the people of Michigan to initiate legislation through a petition. The goal of this legislation is to amend our partial-birth abortion ban by adding the banning of dismemberment abortion procedures. The advantage of this approach is that the bill’s language cannot be changed by the legislature and cannot be vetoed by the governor. If you are willing to help gather signatures after the Mass you regularly attend please contact me. The time commitment is about 15 minutes. For more information feel free to call me or visit: https://michiganvalueslife.org
Baby Bottle Coin Drive for Pregnancy Aid: Thanks for the amazing response! All bottles were taken home. If you did not get a chance to return this weekend please feel free to return next weekend or drop at the parish office during the week. Pregnancy Aid is a local organization (just up Mack) that provides support, counseling, and care for pregnant women and new mothers. For more information on Pregnancy Aid visit:

Finally, thanks to all who attend the National Prayer Chain last Sunday. This event is a visible statement that we support life. Also, thank you to Tom Lopiccolo and the Knights for their support.
