FOX, Louis H., age 88 of Grosse Pointe, died on January 15, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jean, whom was the love of his life and best friend. Loving father of David (Kathleen Cahill), John (Susan), Lawrence (Martha Eldredge), Mary Ruth Scholz (Daniel) Jablonski, Cathy (Tim) McGuire, and Paul (Mary Kay). Devoted grandfather and great grandfather of 19. Dear brother of June Betzing and Mary Ruth Fox. He was preceded in death by son Tommy and granddaughter Sarah Scholz. Lou was born on April 28, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan to Arthur and May Fox. A veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy, he married Mary Jean DeCrick on October 14, 1950. He retired as a salesman from Gaylord Printing. He enjoyed camping especially in his Airstream and was a member of WBCCI. He was a devoted scout leader, avid woodworker, and servant of his church. He was a friend to everyone he met and will be greatly missed. A celebration of life will be on Thursday, January 21 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Verheyden Funeral Home on 16300 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe. Mass with military honors will be at St. Clare of Montefalco Catholic Church, 1401 Whittier Road, Grosse Pointe Park, on Friday, January 22 at 10:30 am; Instate 10:00 am. He will be buried at Great Lakes National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Clare of Montefalco Church or Make a Wish Foundation.
