First Reconciliation will be Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 10:30 AM.
We strongly suggest you take your child to a special luncheon
to celebrate this Sacrament.
First Holy Communion is Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the 11:00 Mass
Meeting Dates:
- March 3: Rite of Enrollment followed by a parent, child meeting. 9:00-11:30
- March 10: 9:00 Mass. Parent, child meeting until 11:30.
- March 17: 9:00 Mass. Parent, child meeting until 11:30.
- March 24: 9:00 Mass. Parent, child meeting until 11:30.
In preparation for these Sacraments you need to:
- Have a copy of your child’s Baptismal Certificate in the Religious Education Office by December.
- Find your child’s baptismal candle or purchase one for $3 from the religious education office before March 3, 9:00 Mass, the Sunday of the Rite of Enrollment. We also encourage you to invite the child’s Godparents to attend this Mass.
- Bring your child to Mass each week and sit in the front pews so they can see what is happening at the Mass. If Mass is not important to you, then it will not be important to your child. There is no point in preparing your child to receive Jesus in the Holy Eucharist, if they will not be participating in the Mass each week.
- Each week have your child bring a copy of the church bulletin. Have the child print his/her name at the top, the time of the Mass and the celebrant for the Mass. Turn these into the teacher the day of the Mass or the Monday after.
- Pray with your child each day. Go over the lesson with the child. Reverence the Holy Eucharist.
- Make certain your child knows the Sign of the Cross, Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be before Christmas, and an Act of Contrition, morning prayer, and prayer before meals by the end of March. They will be asked to pray these individually out loud.
- Review the documents under More Information in the left margin.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s teacher or Sr. Kathy.
Teachers in the program are:
- Sunday family: Julianna Leonard and Helen Dodge.
- Monday Religious Ed: Sr. Mary Peter, OSM. St. Clare School: Sr. Mary Peter, OSM.
God bless you and your family during this very sacred year.
