St. Clare Christian Service Commission is once again sponsoring the Christmas Giving Tree Project. The gifts will provide Christmas cheer and much needed supplies to the guests at St. Patrick’s Senior Center, St. Charles Adult Care Homes, Freedom House, Catholic Charities, Pope Francis Center, St. Aloysius Neighborhood Services and Franciscan Ministries. Please do not gift wrap your donation. We will have decorated collection bins on the altar. Gift bags are welcome, clear plastic bags or items left in their own wrapping with a gift tag are fine. The gift tags on the trees near the church entrances give recommendations for the needed and appreciated items. Gift cards are greatly needed. (Walmart, Kroger’s, Target, CVS, Gordon Food Service) Please read the scripture passage on the ornament that you pick and reflect on its meaning for the ones being served and for your own family. You may purchase any or all the items on your gift tag. Please cross out any items on the tag that you did not purchase. Please tape your gift tag to the item to assist with sorting even though you are not wrapping the item. Please place your unwrapped gifts around the altar or in the bins during Mass on Saturday December 10th and Sunday December 11th. There will be a slotted box near the altar for the gift cards which you don’t need to wrap. Thank you for your generosity in advance. We welcome those not attending mass to also participate. You may drop off items at the Parish Office during normal business hours. Also, Amazon or online orders are welcome: St. Clare Church/Giving Tree Project, 1401 Whittier Road, GPP 48230. Please contact me if you have any questions. Gift ideas and detailed instructions may be found on our webpage: https://stclarem.org/giving-tree. You are invited to make your own gift tag!
