Have you heard about the Camino? It is a pilgrimage in which one walks a spiritual journey to the Cathedral of St James in Santiago, Spain. The official name is “Santiago Trail” or Camino de Santiago de Compostela. For some the journey can be 30 days or whatever the individual can handle. On this hike one meets many individuals from all over the world. Sharing ones heart often takes place as one journeys each day, conversation, support to help you continue when your feet are blistered. Problems and life crisis are shared, I want to make note that on the Camino one learns a great deal about oneself and others. Each day you walk with God – pray for strength to continue to reach your goal. We all need to pray for the strength to go on and walk each day with faith and hope in our hearts. One foot in front of the other. Sometimes our journey is filled with joy and love, whatever the situation remember God is present.
I have never walked the Camino but it is on my bucket list, but reality and God tell me “no Camille”. I have shared this story because it is a lot like Stephen Ministry. We can help others right here in our own community. One step at a time we can walk with our brethren. We can listen and be supportive to one in need. Most of all we may pray with them and for them!
