Pope Francis has announced a Jubilee Year of Mercy starting on December 8th of this year until November 20th of 2016. During this year, we are all called to focus on mercy – God’s mercy toward us, and how we can live more merciful lives as Christians. In our parish we have already completed three series of talks on Mercy: Mercy to those on the fringes; Mary – Mother of Mercy; and the Sacrament of Reconciliation – Mercy of the open doors. Two talks are ahead of us. This Wednesday Fr. Anthony Fox, OFM Conv. (Franciscan) will join us for the topic: Year of Mercy – Laudato Si and Mercy to environment, unpacking for us the latest encyclical of the Holy Father. The following Wednesday Catherine Lanni from the Divine Mercy Center in Clinton Township, will join us for the topic: Year of Mercy – Divine Mercy. Everyone is welcome.
