It is finally spring, so if spring cleaning is on your agenda, please keep St. Vincent de Paul in mind. Our blue SVdP collection bin stands ready in the parking lot between the school and the church to accept gently used clothing, shoes and household linens.
Donations can also be dropped off at one of the 13 SVdP Thrift Stores located around the metro area. A complete list of locations and hours can be found at www.SVdPDetroit.org . The nearest to St. Clare is the store at 14922 Kercheval in West Park near Alter Road.
Prefer a pick-up? It is possible to get a pick-up scheduled at your home, office, or place of business Mondays through Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. To help control costs, SVdP requests the donation be at least 10 bags or boxes of clothing, household, or miscellaneous items along with at least one piece of furniture, or several pieces of gently used furniture NOT in need of repair. To schedule a free pick-up, contact SVdP at 313-672-7837, toll-free at 877-788-4723 or
[email protected].
Due to concerns about bedbugs, used mattresses, sofa beds and futons are not accepted. Tax donation slips are available.
Fr. Andrew says the lost and found items in the back of church will be donated soon. There are a lot of worthy causes out there, but of course we are hoping SVdP is his charity of choice…and yours too!
