Our regular SVDP monthly meeting is scheduled for
Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 7:15 pm in the faculty room (following
6:30 Mass) The main focus of this meeting will be our home visit workshop, and all our members are encouraged to attend if possible—even if you are not planning to be a home visitor for our conference. There will be valuable information on available resources and assisting the needy in our community.
The St. Clare SVDP conference is participating in a special project sponsored by Gleaners Food Bank and Kroger called “Bringing Hope to the Table.” We have volunteered to work at the Roseville Kroger on
Sunday, January 12 from noon till 6 where we will be distributing grocery lists provided by Gleaners and encouraging shoppers to purchase a couple of additional items to donate for the hungry. We need helpers to sign up for the shifts at Kroger as well as a couple of people to help unload the collected food into our St. Clare food pantry. This service opportunity is open to everyone; if interested in volunteering, please email Barb at
[email protected] for more information and to schedule a time to help.
Finally, the Archdiocesan Council of SVDP will be holding their Ozanam Orientation in the St. Clare social hall on
Saturday, Jan. 11 from 9 am till
1 pm. This program is a wonderful overview of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and it’s essential cornerstones: friendship, spirituality and service. There is a $15.00 dollar registration fee for this seminar which will be paid by our conference for St. Clare members wishing to attend. Anyone interested in participating should reserve their place by contacting Barb at
[email protected].
Thank you to everyone dropping donations of food at our baskets in church and clothing in our collection bin in the parking lot. We are happy to have these resources to share with our neighbors in need.
