During May our Catholic tradition is to pay special tribute to the Blessed Virgin. We do this by praying the Rosary, special devotional prayers, special feasts, and the tradition of a "May Crowning". Last week our First Communion children participated in this by decorating our statue of Mary with a crown of flowers. Our Garden Club has a flower bed in front of the Holy Family Chapel entrance (pic on pg. 4) on Whittier in honor of Mary as well.
Perhaps you can join us on Wednesdays this month for the Rosary via livestream at 8:30 pm, or pray a decade (10 Hail Mary’s) at the dinner table, light a candle by the statue of Our Lady while saying your prayers, etc. As we honor Mary the mother of Jesus, we see how She, who was always at His side can be an example to us how to be Christlike in our everyday lives.
