Sunday, October 20th, the Catholic Church around the world will observe World Mission Sunday. This annual observance was instituted in 1926. Every year since then, the universal Church dedicates the month of October to reflection on and prayer for the missions. World Mission Sunday is celebrated in every country, in every diocese, in every parish—even the poorest. By our Baptism, we have each been entrusted with the responsibility of being witnesses of Jesus' message and life. As we prepare for next week's World Mission Sunday, let us pray for all men, women, and youth who live and minister in the worldwide mission field. Let us also give as generously as we can to support the Church's manifold 'works of mercy.' Let us be part of this great act of solidarity in prayer, in sacrifice, and in generous giving. Thank you for your generous donation.
