As the lazy days of summer come to a close, I hope you were able to enjoy moments when you disconnected from the everyday situations that drive your schedules. The tasks and the chores of life, jobs, family, and the commitments those demand. I hope you were able to breath deep — literally and metaphorically—maybe visit somewhere new, tackle that project, but also find a quiet moment to reflect, pray, give thanks, and extend love to those close to your heart. I hope it was a good summer.
Certainly, here in the office we had a great summer, a busy summer, with good things happening in our parish and school. I am very grateful to our Parish Team and all involved in weekend ministries for making this summer go smoothly.
Labor Day: In the Catholic tradition, work is more than a way to make a living; it is a form of continuing participation in God’s creation. This Labor Day, reflect on the dignity of work and rights of workers by visiting www.usccb.org/jphd to read the annual Labor Day statement from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Check our website for a special video clip.
