November 6, 2024Hello St. Clare Family, finally, our 2024 Giving Tree Project will kick-off next weekend. A small Christmas Tree with gift tag suggestions will be at all the doors. Please consider taking one or two tags from our trees to remind you to give to others in our community while you are doing your Christmas shopping for your loved ones. This annual project supports nine area organizations helping individuals and families in our immediate area. In some cases, the physical gift is much needed and in others, it is the act of giving and the kindness behind the gift that is greatly appreciated. All your thoughtful donations and gift cards find a much needed and appreciated home right before the Christmas season. Thank you in advance for your dedication to this annual campaign!
Giving Tree Project: We will have our Giving Trees with their tags out in the church beginning November 16-17. Please consider taking one or two home and plan to support our parish project. Collection of your gifts will be the weekend of December 14-15 or delivered to the Parish Office anytime. The area organizations we support are the Pope Francis Center, St. Charles Blvd. Project, St. Aloysius Neighborhood Services, Freedom House, St. Patrick’s Senior Center, CCSEM, Franciscan Ministry-Cadieux Road, St. Clare SVDP, and Motor City Mitten Mission.
The Giving Tree Gift Tags may include the following items- Hoodies; Women’s Tops; Men’s Shirts; T-Shirts; Underwear; Sweatsuits; Sweaters; Long Underwear; Hand Warmers; White Socks; Toiletry items; Bed Sheets; Blankets; Sleeping bags; Winter Coats; Gift Cards (Walmart, Kroger’s, Target, CVS, Gordons Food Service).
Early shoppers are welcome to take advantage of the deals and begin buying gifts for the program. As a reminder, we will not wrap our gifts but place them in a gift bag or regular bag with a Giving Tree Gift Tag. You are invited to make your own tag as needed.
