Easter Sunday crowns the Holy Triduum (Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter) celebration and begins a new period within the liturgical year. In this time, we discover a deeper meaning of Easter. The forty days of Lent give way to fifty days of celebrating with joy and hope singing Alleluia to Christ’s resurrection.
Easter morning brings us together and signifies a new beginning and fresh start, similar to the lyrics in the old song: Morning Has Broken … We step into this new season with hope for the new horizons we discovered during our Lenten journey. Wherever we find ourselves on our life and faith journey, be it facing hardships, difficulties, joys or sorrows, or plans and dreams for our future – there is a reason to rejoice: Jesus is alive, the tomb is empty, He is present in the breaking of the bread and meets us on the way to our own Galilee. May the signs of Easter: the Paschal Candle in our midst, Holy Water, and renewal of our Baptismal vows, and return to glorious Alleluia be assurance of this joy. Be Bold. Be Holy. Be Catholic.
