During the Easter Season of 2013 we have begun the tradition at St. Clare of having parishioners share their Resurrection Story. Since then every year at each Mass between Easter and Pentecost Sunday after the homily a story is shared by one of our own. Here is how you find your story.
We all have a story. Most likely not dramatic, but a story to tell. Think of Zachesus, climbing the tree to see Jesus, Paul being struck down from the horse, Peter in the boat, or the two disciples on the road to Emmaus after the crucifixion. They were all ordinary people, who recognized Jesus “on their way”. Somehow their lives were changed, and they began to trust and follow Him. As Catholics we believe God sent His Son to walk among us in human form, so that we might come to know Him, follow Him and recognize Him as our Savior.
A Resurrection story is sharing where you see Christ in your life. How you recognize Him, how you act on that, and how you share your faith with others. It could be how your life has been influenced by Christ and how that gave you hope. Something from your own personal experience, within your family life, or at work, that had a profound impact on you and provided the spark and ignited a connection with your faith. Maybe your story is how you have been able to perform some Works of Mercy. Whatever it is, it is how we find God in our everyday lives and seeing God in all things around us.
So read these stories and enjoy the journey of faith in action!
